Do you think children should have rights?
If you think yes, choose yes.
If you think no, choose no.
If you think it kinda depends, choose depends.

This question is in the same class as 'should you stop beating your wife' and sits at the back with the other non-performers. Obviously children have rights, as do any person.
The major issue is 'do children's right' over-rule everyone elses'. The catch-cry used by the Family Law is 'the interests of the child', which means in the interest of the mother. To provide for the maintenance of the child's lifestyle after divorce, means providing for the maintenance of the mothers's lifestyle, all in the interest of the child, of course.
The concept of equality before the law is thrown out of the window. The father's ( and by extension. the mother's) are subordinated to the child's. The mother hides behind and rides on the coat-tails of the child at the expense of the father.
It was Hitler, in Mein Kamf, who introduced the idea of the child's interest. He said, to the effect, that if you claimed laws were in the interest of the child, people would accept any restriction on their rights and freedoms.
